Jim Iyke’s mother passes away
Nollywood Actor, Jim Iyke Esomugha is currently grieving over the loss of his mum, Mrs. Esomugha, who passed away on Monday, 30th of March, 2014.“Yes, Jim Iyke’s mother is dead, but she didn’t die on April 1 as it is being widely reported. The old woman died last Monday in Abuja,” a close family told Dailypost.
Also speaking with DailyPost, United Nations’ Youth Ambassador, David James Egwu said it’s true that Jim’s mum has passed on, but we are yet to establish contact with Jim.” Egwu is one of Jim’s closest friends in Abuja.
Dailypost gathered that the late Mrs. Esomugha had been having serious health challenges for some time, before she passed away at Garki Hospital, Abuja.
“She died of stroke. The woman has been sick for some time now and has been staying with Jim Iyke in Abuja,” the source disclosed.
The sad news is coming weeks after Jim proposed to his BFF and ‘lover’ Nadia Buari in London.

Breaking News! Another Plane Crash in Nigeria! Plane Carrying 27

iSalute Media just got word there has been a plane crash in Nigeria. It is believe that former governor and former minister of Power’s Olusegun Aguagu family was on the plane with the dead body of the former governor. The family was flying the body home for burial. It is believed that the plane that crashed was a chartered-private jet.
According to sources there have been 20 casualties but it has not been confirmed. According to a witness, the crash occurred at the local wing of the airport close to the section were JET-A1, plane fuel, is stored. Fire service officials were seen evacuating the occupants of the plane. The spokesman of the Nigeria aviation agencies, Yakubu Datti, asked for more time to get details of the incident, Premium Times reports.The Ondo State Government has described the crash of the plane bearing the corpse of former Gov. Olusegun Agagu as it was taking off from Lagos, as shocking.
A statement on Thursday in Akure by Mr Eni Akinsola, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Olusegun Mimiko, said that a commissioner, family members, associates and other top government officials were involved in the crash.
“No doubt, this is an unfortunate disaster in the life of our dear state. We can only pray that God will visit the state with mercy and give us all the strength to bear these unfortunate losses.
“We ask all residents to be in a sober and prayerful mood at these trying times, as God is indeed the only person we should call upon in this period,” Akinsola said.
According to him, government assures that further and better information will be released on the crash as soon as they are available. (NAN)

Nollywood actor, Aki loses father
These are sad times for Nollywood
diminutive actor, Chinedu Ikedieze,
otherwise known as Aki who lost his father
yesterday to the cold hands of death.
The funny actor made the grieving
announcement through a broadcast
message on the blackberry instant
messaging platform.
“Hello everyone, I just lost
my dad” was his statement
through a broadcast on
Blackberry Messenger.
The cause of his father’s death has not yet
been revealed by the Imo State born actor,
but sources have however revealed that the
late actor’s father died after a brief illness.
Chinedu Ikedieze, MFR is a Nigerian actor.
He is best known for playing alongside his
screen partner, Osita Iheme. Their
breakthrough movie was Aki Na Ukwa.

We will miss Achebe’s immense patriotism and commitment to a better Nigeria – Jonathan
President Goodluck has received with immense
sadness, news of the passing away of Nigeria’s
globally acclaimed writer, scholar, tutor, cultural icon,
nationalist and artist of the very first rank, Prof.
Chinua Achebe.
President Jonathan joins Prof. Achebe’s family, his
friends, colleagues, past and present students,
admirers and all who have learnt indelible lessons of
human existence from his award winning works of
literature in mourning the legendary author.
As he mourns however, the President is consoled by
the knowledge that Prof. Achebe will live forever in
the hearts and minds of present and future
generations through his great works which brought
him enduring international fame and countless
honours.
The President believes that Prof. Achebe’s frank,
truthful and fearless interventions in national affairs
will be greatly missed at home in Nigeria because
while others may have disagreed with his views, most
Nigerians never doubted his immense patriotism and
sincere commitment to the building of a greater,
more united and prosperous nation that all Africans
and the entire black race could be proud of.
He recalls that with maturity and global stature, Prof.
Achebe fearlessly spoke the truth as he saw it and
became, as he advanced in age, a much revered
national icon and conscience of the nation who will
be eternally honoured for his contributions to
national discourse as well as the immense fame and
glory he brought to his fatherland.
On behalf of himself, his family, the Federal
Government and all Nigerians, President Jonathan
extends heartfelt condolences to Prof Achebe’s family.
He prays that God Almighty will receive Prof. Achebe’s
great soul and grant him eternal rest from his
outstanding earthly labours.
