African men are violent and harsh – Eniola Badmus

Actress, Eniola Badmus has opined that African men are “too harsh” – she stated this in a quick chat with Yes Magazine. While speaking on ‘violence against women’, the single Actress said, “African men are too harsh! They are too harsh. African men are harsh and violent. An English man would never beat his wife because their law forbids it. Then, I must say that if there is a penalty for it, stating that whoever beats his wife would be jailed, I’m sure this will reduce. “But since there is no law and no one is preaching against it, everybody feels it is a normal thing. Even if we say there is a law, it is not being implemented as it should, because if it had, all these won’t happen. I think there should be a capital punishment for it because, to me, it is a terrible act.” she concluded. Eniola is known for her usual advocacy against domestic violence. She once said she’s still single because she is still searching for a soft hearted man.

“Please pray for me” – Funke Akindele confirms her marriage is over

The sayings, “there is no smoke without fire, and rumours do not spread without some iota of truth in them” best capture the ensuing marital melodrama involving star actress, Funke Akindele and estranged husband, Kehinde Oloyede, as the actress, on Friday, July 19 confirmed the crash of their 14 months and 11 days old marriage to her teeming fans . In a press release signed by Akindele’s publicist and elder sister, Ayo Ola-Muhammed, which was made available to DailyPost, the actress’s spokesperson stated thus: “On behalf of our client, star actress, Funke Akindele, we want to formally inform you that after due consultation and consideration, she is now separated from Kehinde Oloyede as his wife.“She hereby urges her fans and all concerned to pray and wish her the best as she moves on in her career. Kindly note that this is the first and only official statement from Funke Akindele on the matter and will be glad if her wish is respected.” Sadly, the news of the couple’s separation was dropped in a terse statement by Oloyede on his personal Facebook profile with the name Kehinde Almaroof-Oloyede, on Monday, July 15, and within few hours, the awful news spread like wildfire, both on print and social media. With this development, Funke has finally joined the league of celebrities with failed marriages, a development that has become synonymous with the entertainment industry. Indeed, they have made their ways into the hearts of millions of people, who dream to be like them. But either at home or abroad, there is one thing none of their fans will pray for —failed marriages and heartbreaks.

“I don’t support gay marriage, God does not like it” – Emeka Ike

Emeka Ike has stated categorically that he does not
support any plan to legalise gay marriage in Nigeria,
as it is against God’s will.
The Nollywood actor, who is on a self-imposed
sabbatical from the movie industry, was responding to
questions at Vchannel Celebrity Night Out at Troy
Lounge in Lagos.
He said: “Knowing our penchant for ‘copying’ others I
want to plead with Nigerians not to encourage same
sex marriage. I don’t hate gay but I don’t support gay
marriage either. God does not want it, our culture
forbids it. We should not encourage what is not right.
“This is about defending whatever is left of our
culture. Nigeria should not go the way of UK, we are
people of culture. I want our legislators to stick to
their guns and not legalise what will be eroding our
culture and make us godless people.”
He also spoke about family, acting and the lingering
AGN crisis. Actors, Chidi Mokeme and Yomi Fash
Lanso were at the event to support one of their own.

How I combine music with movie production –Fast rising film maker, Davis Nweke

Fast rising musician cum-film maker, Davis Nweke is
fast becoming a darling of the entertainment industry.
The talented singer and film-maker whose single: ”
Anywhere” featuring Solidstar is currently enjoying
heavy airplay on many radio stations across the
country is set to release his latest movie entitled:
‘Alaba Boys’.
The movie as directed by Nweke David, from the
stable of DD Productions parades top Nollywood stars
such as, Francis Odega, Steve Alajemba, Chukwudi
Okoro, Mercy Onwuka, Nweke David and host of other
up and coming acts.
In a chat with Dailypost, David, who hails from Oji
River Local Government Area of Enugu State stated
that the enthralling movie was packed with comedy,
emotion, love and betrayal.
On how he copes with the challenges of music and
movie productions, young Nweke said: “I must
confess, it has not been easy, but the truth is that I
don’t do all of the at a time.
“I do them one after the other, I don’t go to studio
everyday and I’m not always on location. When it is
time for music, I go to studio and when it is time for
movie, I storm location, he added.”
“However, it has been challenging. There are lots of
competitions outside there and there are lots of
people who would do anything just to get a “waka
pass” role in a movie. At times you see people who
can’t even pronounce words correctly being given a
lead role in movies; people who don’t have
communication skills, who waste so much time
rehearsing, and other things like that.
When asked what inspired him into movie production,
David who just returned from location said: “Right
from childhood, I have had this passion for movie,
then I used to watch the likes of Ramsey Noah, Jim
Iyke and other top Nollywood stars and I would say to
myself, “One day, I will be like them, and today, here
I am, though not as popular as they are, but I hope
to attain such feat one day.
On those he looks up to as role models in the highly
competitive industry, David said, “God is my role
model, I don’t look up to man but there are few
people I admire in the industry. I love the likes of Jim
Iyke and Ramsey Noah (jnr), these people inspire me
a lot.”
He lamented the cankerworm called piracy that has
eaten deep into the industry, “The fact that piracy has
become the order of the day is another challenge.
Most people no longer do movies to sell; they now
shoot movies for the cinemas. Cinema movies are not
just what one would wake up and start shooting- it
takes a lot of time.
It is painful to produce a methodical musical work
and some people would just lay their hands on it.
Piracy is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the
entertainment industry. This is why I am working
painstakingly to safeguard my present musical efforts
that cost me sleepless nights, fortunes and a lot of
energy to realize.” He added.

She went further to say that he’s a kind, selfless God fearing man, and being that she’s someone I trust her judgement of people I agreed for him to call me, from there we got talking and the rest is history. “Honestly, I can’t thank God enough because he’s given me my

“Homosexuals want to sleep with me” – Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu

Famous comic actor, John Okafor, otherwise known as Mr. Ibu has lamented that the Nigerian motion picture industry, globally known as Nollywood is currently being ravaged by a virus called homosexuality. The Thespian in an interview with E-Express disclosed that some guys had been after him, trying to harass him sexually. He said: “One idiot came toasting me o! That is true, as funny as it would sound. Something is happening in this Nollywood. These upcoming actors are being used by some of the established producers who are gays. If you want to get a job as an up and coming actor, you must sleep with them. You must be sexed to get a job. We are no longer in the era of the female actresses suffering from sexual harassment; it is now man to man. Abomination! God has a lot of things to judge. Man to woman is also bad, but we can easily overlook that. Why not put your penis in the right place. There is something spiritual in that thing (frowns). Why would you bend down for one idiot to penetrate you, thereby destroying your future? You left God and bowed to devil…by the time you get up, you

“Lesbians after us” – Nollywood twin sisters, Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke cry out

Their fast rising feats in the Nigeria motion picture industry, globally known as Nollywood reminds you of the adage that says, ‘hard work pays.’ They may not be mentioned in the same breath with A-list actresses who possess mouth-watering endorsement deals with conglomerates; nonetheless the effervescent and charming Enugu State-born queens of numerous chartbusting movies, Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke are no pasties. The identical twins warmed their ways into hearts of many movie buffs in 2004, when they embraced the klieg lights. After thrilling movie buffs in hit flicks such as: Crazy Twins, Jealous Friends, Desperate Twins, Lagos Girls, Broken Ambition, Revenge of the Gods, among others, the Business Administration and Mass Communication graduates of Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu are not resting on their oars. Although, from a polygamous background, the entertainers believe that the sky is their starting point. The Aneke sisters in a recent interview granted to E-Express, opened up on several issues bordering their burgeoning careers especially their desire to walk down the aisle with twin brothers the same day, which is not forth coming, why they cant marry Peter and Paul Okoye of the P Square fame and how lesbians bombard them with text messages. They said: “Our prayer is to marry twin brothers and have our weddings same day. We pray for this every day. Our suitors can pay our bride prices differently, but we want the wedding to hold on the same day. God said ‘my daughter, ask anything you want and it shall be granted.” This form of union referred to as quaternary marriage doesn’t happen too often. Over the years, only few twin sisters across the shore of Nigeria have walked down the aisle with identical twin grooms, why they can’t marry Peter and Paul Okoye of the P Square fame and how lesbians bombard the with love messages. Asked if they would accept marriage proposal from P Sqaure, the Anekes affirmed, “If they come we would’ve to pray over it. We can’t just say yes to them, except if it’s the will of God. Even Jesus Christ told God ‘let your will be done’. With the level we’ve attained in Christianity, we don’t think we can just wake up and say yes to anybody that comes seeking our hands in marriage. “They are good on their side, but we can’t just say yes like that. This is because once we are married, we are married. We would not on any ground go out of our marriages. So that is why we are being careful with who we say ‘yes I do’ to. “Look, money is not everything oh! God will always show you signs to prove to you that so so person is your husband. I want a situation where I will miss my husband whenever he is not around. See my brother; it’s after white wedding and traditional wedding that the real marriage sets in! One has to be very careful when going into marriage, if we marry, we will even buy condoms and give our husbands once they are stepping out! The fact that almost every man cheats is unarguable. Even my late father at his old age was still saying ‘Ada kedu’ (fine girl how far?)(Laughter). But he loved and cared for his children. One woman is hardly enough for any man.” On how they are copping with the menace of lesbianism currently rocking the movie industry, the fast rising duo said: “They (lesbians) have been sending us text messages. They don’t come to us direct. They will call our PA and start passing all kind of messages to us. They have been calling and sending messages.
