Don Jazzy agrees that Eedris Abdulkareem is the reason why artistes are getting paid today

It does appear that other important figures in the Nigerian music circles, agree with Eedris Abdulkareem’s stance that he is a pioneer of some sorts in the industry. Mavin Records boss and super producer, Collins Michael Enebeli otherwise known as Don Jazzy, has openly agreed with Eedris Abdulkareem, over his controversial statement that the likes of P-Square, D’Banj and others are the reason why they are getting paid in the entertainment industry. This may have been as a result of his much hyped confrontation with American rapper, 50 Cent, at a Star organised show. Don Jazzy went on Twitter to support Eedris on this statement. He tweeted: “But I won’t put it exactly like dat. I think what he meant was (that) guys like him, our father 2baba, Tetuila, Eldee etc inspired us to join d game. Therefore, if they didn’t inspire us to join the game, we won’t be getting paid. #True. Baba tuale.”

Don Jazzy further pointed out, “I used to mime ‘Shako Mo’, Belinda’ and ‘Omode Meta Sere’ in secondary school. So, baba has the right to yarn anything o. “That been said, oya @wizkidayo anyday u dont tuale for me wen i see u ehnnnnn. i go wozzzzzzz u 22 slaps. lol,” he ended on a humourous note.

Eedris Abdulkareem, has suddenly found himself in the news, more than usual these days. First, it was the former president Olusegun Obasanjo revisiting his (in)famous ‘Jaga jaga’ song. Eedris did not take that lightly, he issued a reply to the former leader via Twitter, going as far as calling him his mugu. And there is more controversy he has thrown up. Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has called Olusegun Obasanjo’s a ‘Mugu’ after the former president recently criticized him for recording his 2004 hit song ‘Jaga jaga’. Obasanjo while speaking at a forum organized by Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, recalled Abdulkareem’s 2004 hit track ‘Jaga jaga’ sayng that the KENNIS Music rapper doesn’t believe in the future of the country.
