50 Cent Speaks On Receiving Criticism From Bloggers

Bloggers are the new A&Rs? 50 Cent has been putting out decent material in the past few years but his commercial success hasn’t matched his past sales history. It is also quite clear that he receives a lot of flak from internet bloggers, some of whom aren’t exactly music experts. 50 has this to say about them: “It’s interesting because you represent The Source, there was a point as an artist that all you would want is to see five mics on your body of work. That standard has shifted because now the bloggers represent themselves as experts. So they’re pointing out saying this isn’t going to work. That shithead doesn’t know what works or doesn’t work. The DJ would have an ear for music, the perfect A&R person, he’s the guy who plays and knows the response and what you’ll play it after. Like how is this going to come on in the club, tempo-wise. This is cool but we need a joint to get the spot rocking.” Read the rest of the interview at The Source where he talks about writer’s block and reveals that he almost didn’t put ‘Many Men’ on Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ because he is not fond of slow tempo beats.

50 Cent To Release New Album On July 3rd Regardless Of Interscope Support

Here comes the shocker. If you were ready for an obvious push back for 50 Cent’s 5th studio album, it’s not happening. The G-Unit general has revealed to AllHipHop that his new, untitled LP will drop on July 3rd, regardless of his label Interscope’s support. “There’s a lot more business involved [in putting out an album] than the general public is aware of. And that part causes the actual delay with [Interscope]. I’m releasing my album July 3rd, whether is has commercial promotions or not,. “My birthday is July 6 and I planned for it. And I’m doing everything that I planned to do regardless if its huge airplay or not. I could care less, I’m putting the record out.” “I don’t need a record to sell. How much money you think I’ma make off record sales? You think I’ma sell 13 million records?” Its starting to feel like that corner that I left, I ain’t going to keep sitting on the records. Even if everything ain’t in order, album five will be out July 3 and they can wait another two years for me to give them another one.” Do you agree with his decision?
