We are now Mavin Records! Don Jazzy unveils new label with Tiwa Savage

Don Jazzy has broken the silence over his future by today announcing the launch of his new record label. Mavin Records, a wholly independent label, will be the new home for former Mo’Hits stalwarts: Wande Coal, Dr. Sid and D’Prince. The multiple award winning producer also announced that Tiwa Savage would be joining the Mavin family. The signing of Savage, one of Nigeria’s leading vocalists, is seen as a major coup for the budding record label and Don Jazzy promised fans that there are many more exciting faces to be “activated” by the label in the near future. Following a very public split with former Mo’Hits partner, Dbanj, speculation had been rife about what projects the producer had lined up. Several stories had rumbled about relations between the pair but Don Jazzy revealed that his eyes are focused firmly on the future. “I know that there are questions unanswered, mysteries unsolved and wounds to heal,” the producer said. “But I would really appreciate if we allow time to heal the wounds for us all instead of digging them up again.” The founder and CEO of the new label has spent the last three weeks locked in the recording studio along with the fellow “Mavins” as they finalise plans for their debut compilation album, Solar Plexus, released 8th May. The album has been a collaborative labour of love which has traversed five countries. In the same vein as the previously released Curriculum Vitae by the Mo’Hits All Stars, Solar Plexus will exclusively showcase the musical talents of the Mavin Records crew. The renowned sound mixer, James ‘LeRock’ Loughrey, was one of several international collaborators used in perfecting the sound of the album and has predicted that the album will be “huge.” Work is also at various stages for all the individual solo albums with release dates to be announced soon. With the dissolution of Mo’Hits since agreed with D’Banj, Don Jazzy has high ambitions for the new label which he anticipates will soon be “the power house of music in Africa.” He called on all his fans and well-wishers to get behind the new project for what he promises will be a “very exciting journey”. You can get updates on this project through their Website: www.mavinrecords.com or Follow @mavinrecords on Twitter. “I see Mavin Records being the power house of Music in Africa in the shortest possible time,” Don Jazzy insisted. “I know Rome wasn’t built in a day but with a lot of hard work, a good and God fearing team, our friends and fans, TV houses, radio stations, press, bloggers and most of all with God on our side, there is nothing we cannot achieve. “I definitely won’t forget my past because I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. I know there are questions unanswered, mysteries unsolved, wounds to heal but I would really appreciate if we allow time to heal the wounds for us all instead of digging them up again. “I love and respect the press and bloggers a lot and believe they will play a major role in healing our wounds and allow the forward movement. I would love to thank everyone that contributed in making Mohits records as successful as it got. We wouldn’t have done it without you all. The love and support you have given us thus far is definitely not in vain. You all helped create international superstars and none of us will let you down. “It is going to be a very exciting journey from here. I can’t wait to show you guys all we have planned for you all. We have some other Mavins that are not activated yet still under construction that I’m positive you are going to love. Please open up your hearts, lend us your ears, give us your love and support as always and let’s continue to entertain you. Please don’t forget to visit. www.mavinrecords.com and join the fan club “MAVIN LEAGUE” for exclusive news, music and gifts. “Don’t just be amazing at what you do, be a MAVIN at it!”

Don Jazzy doesn't get the respect he deserves

Amid the break up of Don Jazzy & Dbanj there have a lot stories and rumors as to who is to blame etc, and a few hours ago, Dr SID went on twitter and made a statement that pretty much makes him TeamDonJazzy.
Sources have also said that when Don Jazzy left the house he shared with Dbanj, he moved in with Dr. SID for a while until he relocated to his own place in Lekki.
Here is what Dr. SID had to say via his twitter page “DonJazzy is d most important piece of Mo hits, who doesnt get the credit he deserves, without his creativity a lot of things will not exist. that being said i will not be commenting on the issue of the mohits situation for now pls respect that its a very sensitive time for us all”
