Ajimuda, five others re-arrested by EFCC

The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Commission (OSOPADEC), Mr. Debo Ajimuda and five others have been re-arrested by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and detained at commission’s custody. The five suspects include: the Permanent Secretary Dr. Alli, the Director of Youth and Poverty Alliviation, Mr. Monday Mafolabomi, the Accountant Mr. Ikuemola and one other. According to a source at the OSOPADEC’s office at Oba-Ile in Akure North local government area, the top officials of the commission were invited to the EFCC office in Abuja on Thursday, May 24th 2012
but they appeared at the anti-graft commission at Abuja on Friday. The detention was in connection with the investigation of the N64billion naira scandals which was uncovered at the commission recently. Another source who preferred anonymity confirmed that the invitation and detention of Ajimuda and others was part of the preparation for the arraignment of Debo and five others at the Akure which will come up on June 14, 2012. Ajimuda who recently was said to have been living in fear alleging threat to his life was said to be comfortable with dentention in EFCC custody. It will be recalled that Ajimuda was first apprehended two months ago for allegedly mismanaged over N61.60billion.
