Nigerian cargo plane crashes in Accra, kills 10 and Lagos all...List of people onboard

A Nigerian Cargo plane yesterday crashed near the airport in Accra, the capital of Ghana after overshooting the runaway and hit a bus on the ground. Ten people in the bus were reportedly killed while the plane crew survived the accident. The the remaing parts of the air plane could only be found in place very close to the airport with the already condemned bus. Police and fire service personnel are scrambling to redirect traffic and secure the plane before it explodes. Authority of Ghana’s airport in a statement confirmed that “flight number DHV 111, cargo aircraft, operating from Lagos to Accra, has overshot the runway on landing on Saturday June 2, at 7:10 pm local time.” The statement added that “the crew of four people on board all survived the accident and are currently receiving treatment at the airport clinic. The aircraft collided with a minivan, resulting in 10 confirmed fatalities.” But an eyewitness Kofi Anor disclosed that he saw the air plane coming down and killing those inside the bus. According him, “I closed from work, walking home in the rain, only to see the plane falling and people in the Benz bus crashed to death,”. However, the Ghana Vice President John Dramani Mahama told reporters at the airport that a thorough investigation would be carried out.


  A Dana air plane carrying more than 150 passengers and six crew members from Lagos to Abuja has reportedly crashed into a building at Alagbado in Lagos state. Top official of Nigeria Aviation, Mr. Ademuren confirmed that none of the passengers who boarded the plane survived the accident. The McDonnel Douglas (MD) 82 aircraft coming from Abuja rammed into buildings, about two minutes to “emergency” landing at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, killing all the 153 persons on board. The dead include Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) spokesman Levi Ajuonuma, Ehime Aikhomu, first son of the late Admiral Augustus Aikhomu and former Super Permanent Secretary Ibrahim Damcida. There were also three military officers – a General, a Lt. Col. And a Major.
