The doctors have equally appealed to the State house of assembly to look for possible ways to resolve the matter in order to prevent further lose of lives in the state. It was stated that new patients may hence forth not be admitted for treatment in Federal government hospital due to the planned strike. The hospitals among others include; Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH; National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi; Federal Medical Centre, Ebute-Meta; Federal Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba. The doctors who spoke under the auspices of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Lagos State Branch, affirmed that the strike action was the only option left for them since the state government has failed to put things right.
