As the Boko Haram foot soldiers continue to threaten the unity of the once-peaceful Nigeria, respected clerics and apostles of the High have predicted their downfall in no distant time. Addressing different congregations in their respective churches after the Easter bomb attack in Kaduana yesterday, the Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Sunday Makinde; Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie; his Anglican counterpart, Most Rev. Ephraim Ademowo; Catholic Bishop of Oyo, Bishop Emmanuel Badejo; General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Church, Pastor William Kumuyi; General Overseer of Household of God Church, Rev. Chris Okotie urged Nigerians to rekindle their faith in the risen King and pray fervently for the resolution of the socio-political challenges facing the oil-rich Nigeria, noting that God is about to conquer them. According to His Emminence Makinde: “A Nigerian begins another round of suffering when he retires; but in other climes immediately you attain the age of 60, you become a senior citizen who must be treated with dignity and utmost care.” Also describing the massive blast as devilish heartless, the Cathedral Church of Christ, Lagos, Archbishop Ademowo called on Nigerians to stop negative confessions about the country, saying: “It is widely acknowledged that there are security challenges in Nigeria; let us steer up our practical Christianity and ask God to overcome all the challenges currently staring us on the face. Let our Christianity be Christocentric to be effective.” Speaking with journalist at this year’s Easter retreat under the theme, The Miracle of Calvary at the Deeper Life Conference Centre along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi called on the leaders to fast track efforts to implement election promises to salvage the nation. While assuring Nigerians that the Boko Haram insurgence would soon come to an end, Kumuyi stressed that the current security challenge is not alien to Nigeria. He voice his conviction thus: “We have had similar crises in the past, if you will remember the problem of We tie in the old Western Region,” adding that this one will also end like the others.
