Bose Jonson - "Intoxicated"

New video from one of the acts we featured in our bubbling under column not too long ago, the lovely and talented, Bose Johnson. The video is for her track, Intoxicated which has done its rounds around the radio airwaves in Nigeria.

Check it out.

Bose was born in Kano State Nigeria to a Nigerian father and a Togolese mother. She schooled in the north as she travelled with her father as part of his teaching profession. By night he was a musician and it was his love of music that determined his decision to quit teaching to pursue a performing career. He started touring and it was during this period that Bose discovered her artistic ability. From age 9, Bose occasionally performed with her father. By 15 she was singing and playing the keyboard professionally in her father’s band.

Sadly at 20 she lost her father and left music for a long time and went to Federal polytechnic Bida, Niger State, to study Estate management and then continued in the University of Abuja studying English language.

Music Career
Bose has extensive experience of live band performances in bars and restaurants. She could be regularly seen performing at the Transcorp
Hilton Abuja, Abuja Sheraton. She voiced for Chris Aire’s Red Gold TV advert and has performed with:
• Bala Miller in Kaduna as a singer,
• as a classic Singer with Sammy Gyang in Abuja Sheraton,
• Shyne Band
• a back-up artist with Waje at the Festival of Love (Julius Agwu),
• Acoustic Night with Tiwa Savage, and
• a back-up Singer for Dare Art Alade.

During 2011 Bose started work on her first album. She writes, composes and sings her own tracks. She has just released her double single titled “Reign and Intoxicated” which has been airing on Wazobia fm and cool fm and kiss fm Abuja. She also just shot her 1st video “Intoxicated” directed by Clarence Peters which has just premiered on Souncity

MUSICAL STYLE
Bose takes her style from a mix of her favourite music genre Soul, Rock and Reggae. When asked about her favourite genre she says “I appreciate good music so sometimes I can’t really tell which my favourite is”. Her music is a fusion of soft rock mixed with soul and reggae and sometimes with a traditional touch. She also listens to “great” artists like Yossou Ndou, Angelique Kidjo, Bob Marley, Majek Fashek, Asa etc. Her lyrics reflect much of her life, love and the ills of the society
