The new acting inspector general of police, (IGP) Mohammed Abubakar, Monday lost his wife to the cold hands of death. A two-paragraph statement announcing the death of the IGP’s wife, signed by Olusola Amore, force public relations officer, (FPRO), said the deceased was buried on Monday according to Islamic rites.
“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to announce the passing away of Hajia Mariam Mohammed Abubakar, wife of the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar, which sad event occurred on January 30, 2012 after a brief illness,” Amore said in the statement. “Hajia Mariam Mohammed Abubakar was survived by her husband and children. She has been buried according to Islamic rites in Kano,” he stated further.
