Frontline politician and a governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju has condemned those calling for president Goodluck Jonathan’s resignation, noting that ‘he has done only one year and for the opposition to demand for his resignation shows that they do not love Nigeria.’ Mbadinuju while addressing news men in Awka, Anambra State capital insisted that Jonathan had the constitutional right to go for psecond tenure. Hid word: “Those who are calling on the president to resign in view of security challenges facing the country are missing the point. He has done only one year and for the opposition to demand for his resignation shows
that they do not love Nigeria.P “If he completes four years and there are no achievements precorded, then Nigerians can show him the way through their votes. Everybody’s interest is to see that Nigeria Pis stable, but stability has eluded us since the 2011 election and I see the source of the problems as coming from the opposition. “My advice to him is that he should not bother about them pbecause God destined him for a particular purpose in the country. In fact, my belief is that if Jonathan is not the person at the helm of affairs inp this country at present, the situation would have been too bad.” “I do not see him as a weak leader as some people tend to tag him and I know that what he is doing is aimed at keeping the country together. To me, the president is unnecessarily being distracted and that is why I support the call for a pnational conference to enable people air their views on the kind of structure they want in the country. “However, the national conference should take place during his second tenure because if he does it now, there is the tendency for people to misinterpret it that he wants to favour himself in 2015 election. But he should assure Nigerians that he is interested in it and should set the machinery in motion for it.”
