Boko Haram Claims responsibility for the Killing of former DIG, says “God gave us the Victory”

The recent killing of the former Deputy Inspector General of Police has generated questions on the lips of many Nigerians on why the former Police boss was killed and who were responsible for the heinous act. Though many people had pointed accusing fingers at the dreaded Boko Haram armed militants, it was still speculated until yesterday when the group issued a statement claiming that they were responsible for the killing of the former DIG and his entourage. The militant group in a statement yesterday had claimed responsibility for the killing of the former Nigerian Deputy Inspector Generalof police, Abubakar Saleh Ningi, in Kano. “Yesterday God gave us victory and we succeeded in killing a former DIG in Kano city. By God’s grace very soon top government officials will have no peace as we will
intensify attacks on them wherever they are.” The militant group claimed in an email statement issued to journalists yesterday DIG Ningi was killed along Sauna Kawagi road in Kano on his way from his company on Tuesday night with two of his entourage. Meanwhile, information reaching dailypost news desk indicates that the police and SSS have intensified their search towards tracking down the perpetrators. This unfortunate incident is happening when some credible northern elders are said to be negotiating with Boko Haram on seize fire.
