4 Killed in Church Bomb Explosion, Gun Attack

At least four people have been confirmed dead in bomb and gun attacks at two different church centres in the Nigerian city of Jos and Borno respectively. It was reported that the usual gun and bomb attacks that have taken over the Nigerian churches and worship centres did not spell today even as Nigerian churches mourn the victims of the ill-fated Dana plane that crashed in Lagos last Sunday. In Jos, the Plateau State capital, a suicide car bomber drove into the Evangelical Church Winning All Chapel and got his bomb detonated almost at the compound of church leaving worshippers to run for dear lives, the Nigerian police reported. In a reprisal attack, some angry Christian youths who got hold of the suicide bomber killed him and other two Muslims around the area. Eye witness report says over 40 people were injured as one
side of the church build was brought down by the explosion. Meanwhile, gunmen shot sporadically at a group of worshippers during a service at the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria in Biu area of Borno State, a church conducted in a local Hausa language, killing the church usher and a worshipper. It was confirmed that over twenty people sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack. Though no group has claimed responsibility for the two attacks yet, it has become the tradition of the Boko Haram Islamist sect to attack churches every Sunday. This wave of church attack has been on in the North for a while now.
